I wish I had discovered this before:

Here's a completely unrelated song - I wanted to put it in the Songs when it's raining playlist, but I guess that's where selective filtering kicked in.

This song came on when I was lying with my mother on my bed this morning, talking about my entering NS. We're going to do a home cooked meal tomorrow, and I'll be doing the cooking with her. We'll buy some fish from the market. And I'll play some piano for her. Her birthday is on 15th November...exactly 7 days after I enlist.

holy shit. i am so addicted to this song right now. it makes me want to cuddle with my loved one and fall asleep in each others arms under a warm blanket with a midnight thunderstorm raging outside

i reiterate my stand that chuck has the best music, BAR NONE

i think my music tastes have phases. its always r&b, then electro, then mellow, rinse and repeat. right now its the mellow phase - i've been listening to jay chou's fa ru xue (yes, old i know, don't sue me), and the dinner for schmucks soundtrack. and now this. if only my earphones were working :/

not a bon jovi fan, but this sounds perfect when you're cruising down a highway

and i never thought a comedy movie would introduce me to the beatles, but it did:

and my favourite song in the film, which you can tell is inspired by fool on a hill, but equally delicious in its own right. there's a part in the movie where this song just goes 'do do do do' but i can't find it! :/

i think all i really wanted was some closure. the way things are going, i don't think i will be getting it any time soon.

it's been awhile now.

n.
  1. The act of closing or the state of being closed: closure of an incision.
  2. Something that closes or shuts.
    1. A bringing to an end; a conclusion: finally brought the project to closure.
    2. A feeling of finality or resolution, especially after a traumatic experience.
  3. The property of being mathematically closed.

all the girls i've known are crying
all the clouds have silver linings
though the days are counting backwards
i know that you have the right words

me and you
over something to do
could this be true
it all comes down to you

hey you
when i hold you in my arms you'll be finding what you're searching for
hey you
put your lips to the ground, feel the love into your arms i fall

all the girls of note are crying
all the clouds have silver linings

me and you
over something to do
could this be true
it all comes down to you

today i downloaded this e-book called 30 Days to a More Powerful Vocabulary

at the beginning of the very first chapter there was a test to evaluate your current vocab skills, you had to spend twelve minutes answering various sections with points adding to a total possible score of 146

i got 93, which belonged to the bracket of lowest possible score.

98 and below: This score shows a definitely impoverished vocabulary; your weakness in words may be holding you back. It would be a foolish and fatal mistake not to do something immediately about it. Here are two don'ts for you: Don't let your low score unduly disturb you. And don't feel that only a university graduate can be an expert user of words. Shakespeare attended school for ten years all told. Robert Burns, the Scottish poet, was a day laborer without education. Neither Charles Lamb, nor Charles Dickens had enough formal schooling to talk about. And Abraham Lincoln didn't know what the inside of a school looked like. They and many others like them became masters of speech. They achieved their effectiveness by industry and practice. So can you. And when you do, your reward will be great. The beauty of this book is that when you start to benefit - not after months of trial - but from the first day and with the first chapter.

and i thought i was above average in my english. i guess the "no matter how strong you are, there's always a little girl in china that can kick your ass in less than 10 seconds" saying is true.

moving on to happier stuff, here's one song for the road

Moment of honesty
Someone's gotta take the lead tonight
Whose it gonna be?
I'm gonna sit right here
And tell you all that comes to me
If you have something to say
You should say it right now

You give me a feeling that I never felt before
And I deserve it, I think I deserve it
It's becoming something that's impossible to ignore
And I can't take it

I was wondering maybe
Could I make you my baby
If we do the unthinkable would it make us look crazy
If you ask me I'm ready
If you ask me I'm ready

I know you once said to me
"This is exactly how it should feel when it's meant to be"
Time is only wasting so why wait for eventually?
If we gon' do something 'bout it
We should do it right now

You give me a feeling that I never felt before
And I deserve it, I know I deserve it
Its becoming something that's impossible to ignore
It's what we make it

Why give up before we try
Feel the lows before the highs
Spread our wings before we fly away
I can't say I came prepared
I'm suspended in the air
Won't you come be in the sky with me

I was crying over you
I am smiling I think of you
Where your garden have no walls
Breathe in the air if you care, you compare, don't say farewell

Nothing can compare
To when you roll the dice and swear your love's for me
Nothing can compare
To when you roll the dice and swear your love's for me

Virtuous sensibility
Escape velocity

Do you remember when we were just kids
And cardboard boxes took us miles from what we would miss
Schoolyard conversations taken to heart
And laughter took the place of everything we knew we were not

I wanna break every clock
The hands of time could never move again
We could stay in this moment (stay in this moment)
For the rest of our lives
Is it over now hey, hey, is it over now

I wanna be your last, first kiss
That you'll ever have
I wanna be your last, first kiss

Amazing how life turns out the way that it does
We end up hurting the worst, the only ones we really love

I can say it but you won't you believe me
You say you do but you don't deceive me

It's hard to know they're out there
It's hard to know that you still care

I can say it but you won't you believe me
You say you do but you don't deceive me

Dead hearts are everywhere

I am anxious to say this, in that I do not like disappointing anyone. But I do need to get this off my chest. The new music that is set to come out this July 2010, under the name Lydia, is going to be the last recordings ever put out by the band. We are very grateful to have been able to put out as much music as we have and to reach so many people. I assure you this is not something I've decided over a few months, but more so in the past year. This has been something I’ve been thinking about for quite some time now and it’s just the right place and time for me to move on to other things and projects. I know Steve and myself have really enjoyed performing for all the people that have come out to a show over the last several years. And I can’t even begin to explain all the amazing people I’ve met while being a gypsy traveling around the country, unbelievable.

This decision has nothing at ALL to do with a lack of output from the band. I can honestly say the new Lydia material coming out in July is the best music I’ve ever had the opportunity and privilege to release. This release IS the best music the band has or will ever put out.

One last thing. Lydia has amazing fans. I can’t even begin to count how many times I’ve seen Lydia artwork and lyrics tattooed all over you guys. So I thought it would only be right to do one last goodbye/farewell tour along with the new music coming out. For how much you ladies and gent's have and will support us it's really the only thing to do. It will be a FULL US tour, and if it doesn’t come to your city it will surely come to a city near by. The dates will start this summer on JULY 20th and go into late August. The exact dates will be up in the coming weeks.

So we will see you ONE last time with new music in both our hands. The very last Lydia music being released will come to you in early JULY, and the very last tour will be at your door step in JULY/AUG.

I can't even explain how much fun I've had while performing in all of your cities. And calling YOUR city home for the night. I am grateful to have met every one of you wonderful people. You truly have affected my life in ways you will never know.

Thank you.

Until we meet again..
Leighton

Come along it is the break of day
Surely now, you'll have some things to say
It's not the time for telling tales on me

So come along, it wont be long
'Til we return happy
Shut your eyes, there are no lies
In this world we call sleep
Let's desert this day of hurt
Tomorrow we'll be free

Let's not fight I'm tired can't we just sleep tonight
Don't Turn away it's just there's nothing left here to say
Turn around I know we're lost but soon we'll be found

Well it's been rough but we'll be just fine
Work it out yeah we'll survive
You mustn't let a few bad times dictate

So come along, it wont be long
'Til we return happy
Shut your eyes, there are no lies
In this world we call sleep
Let's desert this day of work
Tomorrow we'll be free

Let's not fight I'm tired can't we just sleep tonight
Don't turn away it's just there's nothing left here to say
Turn around I know we're lost but soon we'll be found

my love leave yourself behind
beat inside me, leave you blind
my love you have found peace
you were searching for release

you gave it all
give into the call
you took a chance and you took a fall for us

you came thoughtfully, and then faithfully
you taught me honor
you did it for me

today you will sleep for good
you will wait for me my love

now i am strong
you gave me all
you gave all you had and now i am home

you took my hand
you added a plan
you gave me your heart
i asked you to dance with me

you loved honestly
did what you could believe

i know in peace you go,
i hope relief is yours

listen while it's raining outside

I used to see the night so anxious, but now I know
The only thing it ever taught me was a grand illusion
That comes and goes, the city blanketed of snow

What if we die, no end and no conclusion
How could you smile, just walk away
Well I don't know
I don't know

I met you at the railroad station, now years ago
And something happened on the night I last drank with you in the neon glow
Now I don't see you anymore

The Midwestern sky is gray and cold
The sun never shines, but that's alright
And I couldn't find the letters that you wrote me
What did you write, where'd you go, well I don't know, no

Take a little time, gonna roll the dice
Taken for a ride, any normal life will do, too
Find another way, try to break the ice
Every day and night, the banana peels were true , true

i love the megaphone part at 1:25

Birds flying high you know how I feel
Sun in the sky you know how I feel
Breeze driftin' on by you know how I feel

It's a new dawn
It's a new day
It's a new life
For me
And I'm feeling good

Fish in the sea you know how I feel
River running free you know how I feel
blossom in the trees you know how I feel

Dragonfly out in the sun you know what I mean, don't you know
Butterflies all havin' fun you know what I mean
Sleep in peace when day is done
And this old world is a new world
And a bold world
For me

Stars when you shine you know how I feel
Scent of the pine you know how I feel
Oh freedom is mine
And you know how I feel
